This carefully staged photograph titled, 'Spectre', captures a vivid tableau of purple, white and green flowers—delicate blossoms bursting with color—and the insects that live within. Inspired by 17th-century masters such as Rachel Ruysch and Pieter Claesz, this unique image brings the traditional vanitas genre into the contemporary. 'Spectre' is part of the ongoing Onweacnan series which encompasses works of neovictoriana still life.
